IVAN CSUDAI

Born on August 18, 1959 in Svodín-Želiezovce. In 1974-78 he studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and in 1981-87 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, in the painting restoration studio under the guidance of doc. I. Meszárošová, akad. painter, and the head teacher of the diploma thesis, assistant professor Vladimír Úradníček, akad. painter. Since 1983 he has been dedicated to painting and graphics. In the academic year 1990-91 he was a Herder Prize scholarship holder at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, in the studio of Prof. Arnulf Rainer. From 1990 to 2023 he worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, where he led the painting studio at the Department of Painting as a professor. He is a painter and graphic artist. In recent years, he has also been involved in graphic design and music - he has released several albums. His artistic work has gone through several phases and is documented in detail in three monographs, which are devoted to his early work, drawing and graphic art, and his later painting work.
