Výstavný projekt The Last Drop of Water predstavuje dielo Lucie Žitnayovej (*1994), absolventky Vysokej školy múzických umení (2014 – 2015) a Vysokej školy výtvarných umení v Bratislave (2015 – 2021), kde ukončila magisterské štúdium v odbore Maliarstvo pod vedením prof. Ivana Csudaia. V súčasnosti žije a pôsobí v Bratislave.

Žitnayovej práca prekračuje hranice tradičnej maľby – jej objekty a plochy evokujú dotyk, hmotu a krehkosť, pričom zároveň tematizujú ticho, prázdno a zdržanlivosť ako vizuálne a myšlienkové gestá.

The Last Drop of Water možno čítať ako environmentálny komentár i metaforu osobného vyprázdňovania – miznutia zmyslových podnetov či detskej intuície. Materiál sa v jej tvorbe správa ako nositeľ pamäti aj ako médium meditácie. Autorka skrz prirodzený rytmus krajiny vytvára emocionálne nasytený, no formálne ukotvený vizuálny svet, ktorý pozýva k introspekcii, tichu a haptickému spomienkovému prežívaniu.

The exhibition The Last Drop of Water presents the work of Lucia Žitnayová (*1994), a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2014–2015) and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (2015–2021), where she completed her MA in Painting under Professor Ivan Csudai. She currently lives and works in Bratislava.

Žitnayová’s practice is deeply rooted in the landscape of her childhood, specifically the pond ecosystem of Malé Zálužie. Through tactile encounters with mud, sand, water, and sedimentation, she constructs a visual language that merges organic morphology with minimalist aesthetics. Her work transcends the boundaries of traditional painting, unfolding as a dialogue between surface, matter, and gesture—invoking absence, silence, and restraint as central visual and conceptual tools.

The Last Drop of Water may be interpreted both as an ecological reflection and as a metaphor for emotional depletion—suggesting a vanishing of sensory immediacy or intuitive play. Material in Žitnayová’s work behaves simultaneously as a vessel of memory and a medium of meditation. Through the quiet rhythm of nature, she composes a formally grounded yet emotionally charged visual landscape, one that invites introspection, slowness, and tactile recollection.
